The 2006 Surf Life Saving Western Australia 'Awards of Excellence' were held on the 20th May 2006 at the Fremantle Espalnade Hotel with 300 guests attending to recognise the outstanding contributions of volunteer surf lifesavers in Western Australia.
Broadwater Bay SLSC was awarded seacond place in teh Laerdal Patrol Club of the Year. 1st Floreat 165.65, 2nd Broadwater Bay 158.45, 3rd Mullaloo 158.21.
The Laedral Patrol Club of the Year trophy recognises those clubs who have conducted their patrols in the most efficient manner. Clubs were randomly assesed throughout the season in areas such as rescue techniques, lifesaving tasks and resuscitation whilst on voluntary patrol.
Broadwater Bay SLSC have provided valuable training to the their members to provide an outstanding community service to the Midwest and tourist visiting Geraldton's Town Beach.
Broadwater Bay SLSC was also awarded third position in the Administration Club of the Year - Haywood Shield.
Equal 1st Trigg and Secret Harbour 250 points, 3rd Broadwater Bay 245 points, 15th Dongara Denison 220 points and 19th Geraldton 215 points.
The Club's success is dependant on the behind the scenes work of the dedicated administrator. The Haywood Shield is a prestigious and much sought after trophy which is awarded to the most efficiently administered and active club.
The Broadwater Bay Surf Life Saving Club has commenced its second year of affiliation with Surf Life Saving WA. Building on the success of its foundation year, the Foreshore precinct of Geraldton continues to become a more vibrant precinct as the City begins a process of reorientating itself toward the sea.
The Broadwater Hotel group have finished their first stage of commercial construction and their hotel development is due to commence in February 2003. The City of Geraldton is nearing completion of it's Foreshore Redevelopment Plan and consensus has been reached on the Eastern Breakwater meaning the Southern Transport Corridor will proceed on current timelines and the railway will be removed from the Foreshore.
Results of weekly competition for both juniors and seniors is posted weekly and the club continues to enjoy more and more people every week. If you have an interest in joining this family orientated club please feel free to come down on a Sunday and join our activities.
We are now back at our beach. The new Season will start on 5th November 2006. Could all members be on the beach by 8.50am.

TOAD CAMP This camp is aimed at the 13 to 14 age group to deveop leadership qualitiies. Polly King, Tim Shaw and Ebony Masotto will be representing Broadwater Bay SLSC at this cam held at Rottnest Island. CLUB SHIRTS Club shirts sponsored by the RAC are available from Eileen on the beach. Adult shirts are $38.50 and Junior are $33.00 STATE COUNTRY AND STATE MASTERS TITLES JANUARY 24th and 25th Training will commence every Tuesday and Thursday at 5.15 at the beach to prepare for the upcoming State Country and State Masters Titles NEW BRONZIES Congratulations to our newest bronzies.
